My Story
My goal since 10th grade was to become a nurse anesthetist. I was always interested in the sciences and was fascinated with anatomy and physiology. I strived to do my best in high school to gain acceptance to a 4 years undergraduate nursing program.
In 2007, I started my BSN at Misericordia University. Throughout college, I was focused and driven during my nursing school to achieve my goal of becoming a CRNA. After “proving myself” academically and growing clinically, I reached out to one of my professors and made my career dreams known. With her help, I was able to shadow a CRNA during nursing school.
During my summer before my senior year, I earned a position as a nurse extern in the cardiovascular ICU at a level I Trauma Center. This was perhaps the most integral part of my career development. I spent the summer learning how to become a CVICU nurse. This opportunity grew my knowledge base exponentially and allowed me to build a rapport with the nursing staff and management.
Upon graduation from nursing school, I was able to get a job in the same CVICU where I had my externship. I hit the ground running. I was focused on becoming the absolute best ICU nurse I could be.
Two and half years later, I applied to the University of Pennsylvania and University of Scranton’s Nurse Anesthesia program. I was accepted to both programs and decided to commit to the University of Scranton’s program which started the following year.
During my nursing program and my experience in the ICU, I literally did everything possible to ensure I would get accepted to any program I applied to. With hard work, diligence, and a commitment to excellence, I will help you to do the same :-)
My Values
What I am most proud of about CRNA Mentor is the ability to change the trajectory of your life with a single phone call. This may be in the form of inspiration, encouragement, or mentorship into the incredible field of nurse anesthesia.
My passion for anesthesia is palpable because it has literally changed my life. It has allowed me to provide for my wife and four kids, allowing my wife to be a stay-at-home mom. It has provided me the opportunity to build my dream house while working my dream job. Above all, nurse anesthesia has afforded me the opportunity to dramatically impact my patients’ lives during the absolute most vulnerable time of their life.
If you want to make a difference in this world, and you’re committed to academic and clinical excellence, I can help you achieve this dream job of becoming a nurse anesthetist!
